The Final Countdown!

There are officially three more weeks of complete and utter craziness left.

Week #1: This week is relatively quiet. No projects are due, and just one final exam to take. The problem is that week #2 is so crazy work is spilling into week #1.

Week #2: In the second week I have two presentations, two papers due (one being 10 pages), and two projects due. Beginning today I must kick it into overdrive to even finish all that before week #2.

Week #3: While not as busy, this is the last week leading into my second CSET Math test on Geometry. Several long days of studying this week will be in order.

And then, on May 21st at roughly 7 pm, it will all be over. School will be done with, the CSET will be done with, and I can move on to more exciting things. I can actually enjoy getting ready for the wedding, and working at our new townhouse. Just a little…bit….longer.

The Final Walk Through…

Stacie and I are going to walk through our townhouse in an hour the last time before it’s ours! We have to make sure it’s the same place we bought, i.e. they didn’t tear out any walls, or paint the ceilings black, etc. Much of my time of recent is spent obsessing over what TV to buy, so I’ll be measuring the approximate viewing distance in our living room; a vital piece of information when selecting the proper screen size.

I only have 75 pages left in the 3rd book of the George R.R. Martin series I’m reading. The 4th book isn’t scheduled to come out until late July, so I’ll have to find something else to keep me occuppied. There are a couple Michael Crichton books I haven’t read yet, so I’ll probably read those. I fear I’ve read the best fantasy series ever first, and all others will pale in comparison.

I’ve yet to mention the Dodgers in my blarg for fear of jinxing them, but that is no longer a fear. At 12-3 they’re off to an amazing start, but baseball is more like a marathon than any other sport, aside from a marathon. Brad Penny is scheduled to start on Sunday, with other key players returning from injuries shortly after. The best will just get better. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Eat some peas.

Looking for a Landscaper!

Sorry this won’t be a very exciting update, but I’m starting a hunt.

There are a few minor changes Stacie and I would like to make to the townhouse before we move into it. Today I think I found someone to redo the kitchen countertop, but now I’m looking for someone to redo our backyard/patio. Right now it’s completely filled in with cement, but we’d like to put in some grass and flower beds. If you recently had your backyard redone, or you know someone, please let me know.

I’m hoping to have this stuff ready to go by the time we get the place around May 1st. Right now I’m wishing I’d saved all the flyers that magically appear on our door when I leave for work in the morning.

I finally put pictures of our hopefully soon to be townhouse in the gallery. Escrow closes the end of the month, and so far everything has gone very well. Check out the pictures here.

Our Offer Is In!

Stacie and I put an offer on that townhouse today. If I understand correctly, they have 3 business days to respond. They can either say go away we don’t want you, they can counter back with a modified deal, or just accept it. So we’ll see what happens. You don’t want to get too excited because nothing is final, but then you have to be excited enough to want to get it. I’ll keep you posted, but if you could pray for us that would be way awesome. Thanks!

Is It Really That Close?

So the last couple days have seen our search for a place of residence really intesify. Over the last couple months we’ve been able to narrow down what we can afford, and then from that what we want.

A few days ago a new listing popped up that really met our criteria. We looked yesterday, and it was in very nice condition. It’s a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse. It has a nice living room and dining area, and a small backyard/porch for the puppy. Our parents are going to take a look tomorrow, and I think we’re most likely going to make an offer on it. How scary is that? Next to getting married, it’s one of those ultimate grown-up things. Yikes.

Here are a few pictures.
