There are yard sales and garage sales, but it seems the "ebay sale" has not become a part of our lingo yet. If it does, it will come to mean what a yard sale or garage sale does, except all done on ebay. I’m not one of those people that is constantly selling on ebay, but instead I sell a bunch of stuff all at once very rarely. Since now is one of those times, I thought I’d share my listing with you and the stories attached to each item.

1) 90 Used Tennis Balls in Great Condition

You may wonder why we have this many tennis balls to begin with. Originally we bought them on ebay for Stacie’s classroom to put on her chair legs so they would slide around nice and quietly. Literally a day or two after we got them, someone went through all the classrooms and put sliders on the feet of everyone’s chair. That’s nice of them, but now we had a box of tennis balls and no use for them.

2) Winegard Squareshooter HDTV Antenna SS-2000 Amplified

Originally when we moved into the townhouse I didn’t realize there was an antenna in the attic, so I got this guy and had it put up outside. About 6 months ago though they started to redo the roofs, and our antenna was "illegally" mounted. I knew it would have to come down, but "how" I wasn’t sure. I was hoping the roof guys would just take it off for me. One day though the next door neighbors were having their satellite dish moved, so I paid the guy $20 to just take ours off (because by then I’d put a new antenna in the attic).

3) Nintendo GameCube Console Indigo w/Controller/Component

I know, selling videogames can be quite shocking! The reason I’m selling it though is because I have a ton of AMEX reward points, and one of the best ways to renew them is for giftcards to Toys R Us. I did that today, and plan on using the money to buy a Nintendo Wii. The nice thing about the Wii is that it plays gamecube games, so everything in that listing I will no longer need. The only downside of this plan is that Toys R Us is the only place I can get the system, and who knows when they’ll have them in stock.

4) Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP Classic NES w/Case

What Nathan, two videogame sales in one post? Yup. I decided to sell this system and get Stacie a pink DS Lite. The DS can play old game boy games, so that makes this system unneeded. I’m hoping it fetches a premium for being a "limited edition" version. The DS can also talk to the WIi…for what reason I’m not sure, but it could come in handy.

5) Firefly PC Remote Snapstream Media Beyond TV USB

The least exciting of the listings, but oh well. Part of my HD recording solution was to buy Beyond TV to schedule and record my shows. For whatever reason they had to bundle this remote with it. Because I use the Snazio box downstairs to watch the shows Beyond TV records, I don’t need this remote. Not very exciting, but there it is.

This all reminds me of great ebay buying and selling of the past. Hopefully other people will be motivated to start this new trend of having an Ebay Sale.

What Really Matters

This post will either tell you one of two things.

A) Society has become so dependent on technology that our day-to-day lives revolve around computers, and it is hard to live without them.

or

B) I’m a geek.

Now that all the painting at the townhouse is done, and we have a bed, the only reason I haven’t started living there is simple: my computer hasn’t moved. Well tonight I started the process of moving it. I’m removing all the junk off my desk (which is a lot) and I’ve got a couple boxes to move. Oh yay!

My mom is sad though, she’s cute. :)

Ow My Fingers Hurt

Comments off

I spent a good couple hours today replacing old plugs and light switches at the townhouse. They were all a gross almond color, and they had to go. I’d never changed one before, but it’s really not that difficult. First you turn off the circuit breakers, then you unscrew it to get at the wires in the back, and then getting the wires OUT is a big pain. That is why my fingers ache, because pushing the “release spring” doesn’t do jack squat. Though my hands hurt, almost the whole upstairs has pretty new white plugs and switches. I think there are 20 altogether, and so far they all work. :) Pictures will be coming soon…no, I’m sorry I don’t have them now, the camera isn’t here, it’s at the townhouse. What? That matters because the compact flash card is inside the camera….yes it’s important, that’s what the friggin pictures are saved on!

In 5 weeks something fairly significant occurs: I’m getting married. Oh wow yikes and yowsers! There’s still a bunch to do, but I think at this point we just want to have the wedding and get to the honeymoon. :)

The townhouse is shaping up nicely. All the major painting is done, and I replaced all our door knobs today. They were bright shiny gold before, ick. It still confuses me that something as simple as changing door knobs can be so fun when it’s your own place. It’s fun just turning the handle and seeing if it works, haha. I’ll put up some new pictures soon.

Andrew helped me lift the behemoth of an entertainment box onto its stand the other day. DVDs look gorgeous, but Gamecube is a little underwhelming. It looks better on the lower-res and slightly more blurry TV in my room, so I’ll probably use that instead.

Stacie had her last wedding shower on Saturday, and from what I’ve heard it was a great success. There were no small packages, but I have very high expectations from the girls at her bachelorette party! :) Big thank you to my Mom, Andrew, Sarah, Denise, and everyone else that helped make it happen.

34 more.

I promised an update, and here it is!

Since the last time I posted pictures much has changed. The first and biggest change is the backyard. Concrete is poured and done, now all it needs is some grass and pretty flowers. :)

On Sunday our new refrigerator came which is quite exciting. I still find it remarkable that something as mundane as a refrigerator can be exciting when you’re getting your first one.

Then on Memorial Day Stacie and I did a ton of shopping. We picked out a bedroom set, a mattress, a sofa & love seat, a dining table, and a television.

I must say that I have the best fiancée (that means soon to be wife) ever! I spent almost every waking moment with her for the last 3 days in a row (something I’ll have to do quite often), and I can’t wait to do it every single day of the week.

Do Your Feet Hurt?

Mine sure as heck do! Maybe it’s from standing up for like 8 hours a day for the last 3 days straight.

Today we got a TON done at the townhouse. The entire family on both sides was there, and I can’t thank them enough for all their help, they’re awesome. I feel blessed to come from such a loving and sacrificing family. You guys rock!

Sorry, no new pictures yet. I forgot the camera at the townhouse. Here’s a status update:

1) Backyard is done! Just needs grass and flowers.
2) Downstairs is all painted.
3) Upstairs bedrooms are almost done.
4) Hallway is done.

All that’s left really is the upstairs bathrooms, and then a lot of small “accessories” like door handles and light fixtures. For now I just want to get the painting over and done with so we can put furniture in it. I’ll be sure to drop some pictures on here as soon as I can. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, eat a hotdog for me.

Big Backyard Overhaul

Comments off

While an overhaul might be an overstatement, work on the backyard at our townhouse starts tomorrow. Right now it’s completely cemented in, but we’re having part of it ripped up so we can put in grass and planters. I have to be there nice and early at 8 am, but it should be a good opportunity to work on the trim downstairs. Below is an artist’s rendering of what it will look like:

Townhouse Makeover

I’ve been busy starting the makeover for our new townhouse. There were a few paint decisions the previous owners had made that we didn’t particularly like, so we’ve decided to put our own "style" into the place. I’ve primed the entire downstairs, and I’d like to have that all finished by this weekend. Then we can start on the upstairs! I’ve added a few pictures to the gallery, but I’m sure more will follow.
