Do Your Feet Hurt?

Mine sure as heck do! Maybe it’s from standing up for like 8 hours a day for the last 3 days straight.

Today we got a TON done at the townhouse. The entire family on both sides was there, and I can’t thank them enough for all their help, they’re awesome. I feel blessed to come from such a loving and sacrificing family. You guys rock!

Sorry, no new pictures yet. I forgot the camera at the townhouse. Here’s a status update:

1) Backyard is done! Just needs grass and flowers.
2) Downstairs is all painted.
3) Upstairs bedrooms are almost done.
4) Hallway is done.

All that’s left really is the upstairs bathrooms, and then a lot of small “accessories” like door handles and light fixtures. For now I just want to get the painting over and done with so we can put furniture in it. I’ll be sure to drop some pictures on here as soon as I can. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, eat a hotdog for me.

Our painting went all day on Saturday, and the downstairs is almost finished. Our main wall is now a beautiful blue, and the remaining walls are waiting to be painted. A few more pictures are in the gallery here.

The Big Picture

It’s metaphor time.

Our lives are like a big picture. It tells who we are, how we feel, and what we care about. The big picture is the opposite of the nutshell. The big picture encompasses your entire life and being. The big picture began when you were born, and it’s finished when you die…and few people stop and realize it’s being painted.

The big picture began the day your life started. All the things you’ve done since then affect who you are, from day one to the end. It’s a slow and gradual process. How old are you? Whatever your answer, that’s how long you’ve held the paintbrush in your hand. Who you are isn’t decided the day you graduate High School. It’s not some mystical unknown future knowledge about yourself. There is a picture of your life this very moment, and you’re still painting it.

The most important question is this…what are you going to paint from here on out? You can’t unpaint what you’ve done, but you can paint over it. You can’t change who you’ve been, but you can change who you’re going to be. Whatever you do, never forget that at this very moment…

…you have a brush in your hand.

Arcade Cabinet Update

Just wanted to let you know that work on the arcade cabinet is still very much underway. This week was spent planning the controls and ordering all the parts we need to finish it off. The plan this weekend is to put together the cabinet’s skeleton and stat painting it. We’ve got a nice high gloss black paint we’re going to use. Stacie wanted purple, but I thought black would be a more “neutral” color. :) I’ll post more pics as I get them!

Dragon’s Lair with unlimited retries = freaking awesome! I always hated that game in the arcade because you’d lose all your lives before you even figured out what you were supposed to do! :-p
