The Insanity Has Begun

Last night at around 8:30 pm the wedding insanity finally began. It has been building for several months, but the final stretch run craziness has started.

Last night Stacie and I listened to and selected music for 5 hours. The reason we had to last night is because we are meeting with the videographer and DJ today, who of course need to know what songs we want.

With that out of the way I can work on getting the programs done. My goal is to have them finished by Sunday. I only need about 400 copies double-sided, then folded, and then a tassel put on them. I should probably finish typing them up first though.

Today we bought sunglasses though which was fun. I almost bought the same old Oakley Minutes I had before, but I got some cheaper and cooler Bolles, and so did Stacie. They’re “polarized” which I think is just a gimmick. They have this stupid display to look at where you can only see certain things through the polarized lenses. I’m sorry, but if I can’t tell a difference looking at normal stuff, I don’t care if I can see “hidden” things on your display. It’s not like they’re 3D glasses.

Now I’m waiting for Verizon to come out and put a super dooper filter at the main telephone box coming into the house. They send you cheapy filters with the DSL modem, but they degrade voice quality bad. They can come out and put a nice filter on the entire house though, and then no more cheapy filters inside. :)

Now I go play MVP Baseball while I wait. Only 22 games left in my season and i’m 5 back of the Padres in the West, and 2 games up on the Giants in the wild card. Wish me luck!

Update: Just completed a sweep of the Padres. Now only 3 back of the Pads and 4 up on the Giants. Woot!

I forgot to mention this, but I finished the second book in A Song of Fire and Ice series. I started book 3…it’s over 1000 pages. :) I’ll post a review of the second book soon. In the meantime though I have to read a dumb young adult book for my adolescent development class.

I’m crossing my fingers that I passed the algebra CSET test…because tomorrow I start studying for the geometry test. Everything I learned about algebra will begin to go down the toilet.

Stacie and I booked our hotels and airfare for our whole honeymoon. That’s cool.

I’m now 27-31 in MVP Baseball 2005. I’ve been doing really well lately and probably need to bump up the difficulty, but I’m waiting until I reach .500. Hee-Sop is doing well, but Yhency is horrible. I demoted him to AAA. Scott Erickson was called up to replace Ishii too.

I just had a conversation with Paddy about how gaim is better than aim. His profile looked broken, and the following ensued:

Yup2That: b/c you use gay aim
nathan118: how are your ads?
nathan118: taking up half your screen? mmmm
nathan118: gay themes everywhere
nathan118: driving you nuts with big flashing eagles and crap
Yup2That: what?
Yup2That: they are not taking half my screen
nathan118: and the newest harry potter movie everywhere sending gay icons to you
Yup2That: it is taking the space of one buddy icon
nathan118: and dumb colors everywhere like some idiot broke their aim colors
nathan118: and stupid messages like “accept this gay buddy icon??????”
Yup2That: right
Yup2That: i’m going
Yup2That: see ya sunday
nathan118: ok aim

I so won. He was beyond confused to the point of sleep. There is no better way to defeat your opponent than by sheer confusion and idiocy. Yesssss!

In case you haven’t seen my profile…

samantha johnson: there is a plumber at my house and he keeps on staring and smiling at me =-O
nathan118: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

My body must have needed some catch up, because I slept for 3.5 hours this afternoon. I guess that was good, except I totally missed Random Acts of Kindness, but it sounded like they had a good time.

I started watching the first season of 24. Usually I watch all my taped shows from the week during the weekend, but everything was a re-run. I’m diggin’ the concept.

I’m now 10-21 in my MVP baseball season. Yes, that’s horrible, but I’ve been doing better lately. Finally getting up to playing .500 ball. It’s still way fun to lose. I have a baseball game on gameboy that I went like 145-17…it was way too easy.

We put the offer on the house on Saturday…but they have 3 business days to respond, so that starts tomorrow. So far I’m not too stressed. I keep telling myself we aren’t going to get it, and so if we really don’t, I won’t be disappointed. Here’s hoping we hear something tomorrow!

My test is less than a week away. I think I’m going to take two days this week to study for it. I can’t wait to get it over with. I’m bummed though, I’ll miss a lot of Lori and Angelo’s wedding. :( Dumb test doesn’t start until 2 pm!

Time for bed.

It’s baseball season again, and that’s always a good thing. I was able to watch bits and pieces of a spring training game today, and I got in a few games on MVP Baseball. I’m still trying to find a good difficulty level, but right now I’m 2-4 in my dynasty with the Dodgers. Good stuff.

Tomorrow I start my super CSET studying. I’m planning on putting in 4 hours tomorrow, and another 4 on Sunday. I put in an application at DUSD today to try and get hired for next year. It sounds promising, but that makes it even more important that I pass the CSET. I might be stressing too much about it, but I’d rather be over-prepared.

Stacie and I are still looking at condos and townhomes. It’s an odd predicament…on one hand it’s a little early to buy a place, but we’re also pretty specific about what we want. The danger then is sure we might get the place 3 months early…but that’s better than not finding a place at all. However, having it that soon would give us a lot of time to paint or whatever we want to do.

Everything for the wedding is shaping up pretty well. All our vendors are decided on, Stacie almost has the bride’s maid dresses picked, we’re looking at registries. Fairly soon we need to pick out invitations and I need to do some tuxedo shopping. Kurtis and Kevin are already wanting to know what we’re doing for the bachelor party. :D Any ideas?

Yay Baseball! Boo Soda!

Yesterday I picked up MVP Baseball 2005, and so far it’s awesome. Not only does it play a great game of baseball, but from different message boards I frequent it looks like it’s an all around solid game. That’s got me excited. I’m looking forward to actually playing a whole season and getting into it.

My other big news is that I actually went a whole week without soda! I had an energy drink or two, which are soda-like, but they’re kinda good for you. They have vitamins and all this stuff in them, whereas soda is just sugar. I also picked up the Target imitation Centrum vitamins. A year’s supply is only $15, so I figure it’s worth trying.

I took today off so I could get ready for winter camp and play a game or two of baseball, so I better get myself in motion.

I was trying to not get too excited because I have a billion and one things to do, but I can’t help it. New baseball games start to show up on store shelves tomorrow and I can’t contain my excitement. I won’t have a ton of time to play them, but I’m sure I can squeeze a game in here and there. Best of all, they’re way cheaper than most years. MVP ’05 is only $30, what a deal!

I’m at Warren the next two days for Mr. Orlinsky, so maybe after that I’ll have a chance to pick it up. :)
