My wife is gone at Girl Scout Camp. I chose to stay home and keep the puppy company (she’s almost 3 years old, but she will forever be a puppy, weird). As this monumental weekend of aloneness approached, I began to brainstorm different activities I could partake in without the wife. While she loves to do things with me, there are certain things that would be lower on her list, yet high on mine. These are the types of activities I have focused on for today.

Last night I went over to Chris Luna’s new pad and hung out. We watched Ferris Bueller, random SNL dvds, and played Karaoke Revolution (cool game!). I ate Little Ceasar’s pizza and KFC chicken, mmmm.

Today I have decided to embark on a Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Marathon. The running time of all three extended editions is 11 hours and 22 minutes (not including disc changes). My original idea was to watch all 3 films including extras, but that might be a little long. It is now 11 am, and if I start soon, that has me finishing about 11:00 pm tonight, not including bathroom breaks and eating. There are easily 2 hours of extras per film, so those might have to wait. Here is a rough schedule of my day:

11:30 am – 3:00 pm : Fellowship of the Ring
3:00 pm – 7:00 pm : Two Towers
7:00 pm – 11:00 pm : Return of the King

UCLA plays Memphis at 4:05 pm, so I may switch to that for the duration of that game. I watched the game on Thursday against Gonzaga, and it was amazing. While I didn’t attend UCLA, I did look into going there in High School…so it’s behind CSULA and CSULB for schools I actually care about.

If you want to watch a LOTR film or watch UCLA in HD, you know where I’ll be.

Chris Luna is having a potluck party. It should be tons of fun, I’ll be there!

What should I bring? Pizza or buffalo wings?

With 20 hours of time to myself, here is what I chose to do.

  1. Get sick. I woke up with a sore throat and runny nose, but it got worse as the day went on.
  2. Had In-N-Out with Luna, and then watched The Fantastic Four. It was ok, but could have used a better story line.
  3. Took Luna home, and then watched The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Almost more of a courtroom drama than scary movie, but it was good.
  4. Went to bed, woke up around noon (even more sickly than before) and watched Red Eye. It was entertaining, but talk about a simple plot line.

That was about when the wife got home. So basically I watched three movies, drank a whole cartoon of OJ, and hung out with Chris and the dog. Now I’m in the process of finishing all of my Christmas shopping online at Amazon. I will be thrilled if I can complete it all without stepping foot in a store. Wish me luck.

We have about 800 pictures from Richard to go through, but here’s a small sampling. There are so many pictures and they all look so great, thanks Rich.

The Kiss

The Bridal Party

Getting Down

The Luna

The best part of the whole day

That’s all for now. I’m sure eventually they’ll all be online somewhere. Now the fun of going through them all and picking our favorites. Wish us luck.

Odds and Ends…

I don’t have anything profound to say, so I will say many smaller and less profound things.

Chris Luna ditched me today to eat lunch with the Humberts. Then to his surprise I ate at the same place they did, ha!

In less than 3 weeks I’ll be married and in Hawaii. Yikes.

I find out in less than 24 hours if I passed my second math test and whether or not I’m qualified to teach.

Stacie won’t let me play “Welcome to the Jungle” for our entrance music.

The Dodgers suck, but I’m a real fan and like them anyways.

My new hard drive is still working, all 250 glorious gigabytes. I am filling it with old sci-fi shows that were only on for one season: Nowhere Man, Space Above and Beyond, and Earth 2.

Because Stacie won’t let me play “Welcome to the Jungle” for our entrance, I’m going to play it for the garter toss, ha!

That’s all, yay summer.

Burn Radio

Every Monday evening myself, and sometimes Chris Luna, make complete fools of ourself. We interview famous celebrities, discuss the tapeworm epidemic, muse about upcoming Burn events, and chit chat about life in general. It’s really a spectacle to behold, and you can download it this very moment. Just head on over to theburn.com to download this weeks newest radio show.

Lunacade and Carly Patterson

I’ve been having a lot of “techie” fun lately. The last two days I’ve been working on the good old Lunacade. It now plays eight different gaming systems. The newest is N64, but it’s fun just trying to make them all work!

Tonight at church I finally got a good live online radio broadcast program to work. For about 45 minutes I had a LIVE and online interview with Carly Patterson. We talked about her ongoing fight with tapeworms. Then I took some questions from the audience over AIM. It was so much fun I think we’re going to make it a weekly feature. Go over to www.theburn.com to read more about it!

I have boy’s PE at Sussman tomorrow. Should be very wet. :) Bye yo.
