I decided that lumping my thoughts into the last post would be far too confusing, so I will start a new one. Look for new updates as I get the energy and facts to back up my points. If you make any comments while this post is in progress, you may want to indicate the "section" of this that you are replying to.

1) Understanding Terminology Used in the Illegal Immigration Debate

Before I start babbling about crime and the economy, it’s important to have a clear understanding of the terms used in the debate (especially when the media loves to spin them to death).

An illegal immigrant is someone who either entered this country without permission, or has overstayed a temporary permit (a visa)¹. Any person who is in this country, in violation of the laws of this country, is an illegal immigrant. There are different terms used to refer to people here illegally. Illegal aliens is my favorite. Liberals enjoy using "undocumented workers."

Whatever your term for people who are in the country illegally, the word "immigrant" is not sufficient. The rally over the weekend was not about "immigrants" rights, it was about "illegal immigrants" rights. The laws being debated in congress in no way affect legal immigrants. This is the primary error that so many of the protestors and students walking out of class fail to realize.

It’s not about Mexicans, Chinese people, and it’s not about legal immigrants. This debate is about illegal immigrants.

2) A Foreword on Immigration

Before I get into the nitty gritty, here are some of my personal views on immigration, just so you know what my "biases" are. I believe that the United States is a great country, and something that makes it great is that we are governed by laws. As a nation we have rules and the right to enforce those rules. The United States allows immigration into our country, and people have been coming to live here for hundreds of years. I have no beef with immigrants, as my great-great-grandfather was an immigrant (I think). Many immigrants come here because they want a better life and an opportunity to have the American dream.

The debate before us now is that there are certain individuals who do not believe in the rule of law. It is within the power of the United States to create and enforce the laws. It is illegal to overstay a visa or cross the border without permission. I don’t care who the person is and no matter their circumstance, no one has a right to be in this country besides the citizens of this country. That’s correct, the USA is an exclusive club, and if you want in, you need permission. If you decide to break the laws of our country, you are a criminal.

I’m sure this will sound "mean" to people that think with their emotions. It is not racist nor predjudiced for a country to control it’s own destiny, and who we let in plays a major part in that. A quick look at France and the recent Muslim protests is an example². Just as we have decided to not let terrorists into our country, we reserve the right to say no to extremists, the uneducated, and illegal immigrants. If a person has the desire to come and enjoy the freedom of this country and the economic opportunities, I believe they should also be willing to adopt the values and language of this country. If a person is unwilling to do that, then they should not be here.

3) It’s Friday and I’m Tired.

I’m tired and don’t feel like devoting several hours of my life creating a pseudo scholarly post, so I will now be succinct.

4) The Economy and Illegals: We Don’t Need Them

All the nonsense about illegals working jobs that no one else will is total horse doo-doo. Americans will clean bathrooms, pick lettuce, and build houses, but when employers have cheap labor to exploit of course they’ll pay the lower wages. We have thousands if not millions of uneducated people that would be great at scrubbing toilets. Just go to myspace and look up all the people that graduated with you and still have no life. Illegal immigrants also love to send money back to Mexico instead of investing it back into our economy.

5) Welfare: If You Hand It Out, They Will Take It

When an illegal comes over the border they get so much handed to them. Public education, emergency medicine, roads and highways, medicare, social security, and welfare. An illegal immigrant does not deserve any of that, because they’ve done basically nothing to pay for any of it. Illegal immigrants are having babies by the thousands at our hospitals and not contributing a dime to pay for it. ONE BILLION DOLLARS. I think I’m turning into a Libertarian when it comes to economics. The solution to all of this is to make people pay for everything. Charge people $4000 to send their kid to public school, pay per miles used on the highways. In turn the goverment could get rid of property taxes or income taxes. Ultimately there should not be anything handed to illegal immigrants by the goverment reaching into the pockets of law-abiding and tax-paying citizens.

6) Illegal Immigrants Commit a lot of Crime

Crime 1: 29% of criminals filling jails are illegals, costing 1.6 billion dollars a year (they only make up around 3% of the entire population).

Crime 2: 60% of the 20,000 strong 18th street gang are illegals.

Crime 3: 95% of outstanding homicide warrants in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

7) Conclusion

That’s all the energy I have. Doesn’t seem like the politicians in Washington D.C. have the guts to really do anything, so I don’t see this problem being solved anytime soon.

Tonight we went to see the movie "V for Vendetta" with Natalie Portman. We wanted to go out for dinner and a movie, and with a lack of decent movies to see, this junk sounded the best. Now let me clarify why I call it "junk."

The premise of the movie is that 20 or so years in the future London is ruled by a dictator and freedom is almost non-existent. Dictators, oppression, that’s fine by me, it’s happened in the past, and it could happen again. What’s so freakin’ annoying is how he came to power though. America’s "war" is the only real cause given. By war they mean the war on terror, and that this has eventually led to a society with nightly curfews, heavy surveillance, and few freedoms. The "former United States" is now in civil war, for no obvious reason.

Now I understood that much going into the movie from what I read in reviews, so maybe I’m an idiot for seeing it anyways. There were several things I hadn’t read though that just cemented in my mind that Hollywood hates Christians and Conservatives. In case you want to see this trash, stop reading now.

Early on in the movie there is a Bishop that Natalie Portman and the Terrorist, V, setup to kill. The reason? None given, just that he was at some facility that held V. The setup? Apparently the Bishop has a thing for young girls, so Natalie Portman in a skimpy dress will do the trick. Of course he’s violent and repulsive like most Christians. Strike one.

Then there is a minor sub-plot given through a letter Natalie Portman finds. It’s about a woman who was arrested and imprisoned because she was a homosexual. She recounts "And then they came for us" as two men lying in bed are rushed and arrested. Makes perfect sense that America’s "war" would lead to homosexuals being arrested and killed. Strike two.

One of the "revolutionary" characters has a forbidden copy of the Koran in his basement. It was found during a raid and he was executed we find out later on. There is clear sympathy towards the now forbidden Koran. So the Christian is a disgusting pedophile, but the poor Muslims had their book outlawed. Strike three.

Why does Hollywood treat us like we’re idiots? Liberals want to complain about our civil liberties being taken away, but I challenge any of them to give an actual example of how that has happened.  Name one aspect of your life where you have lost a freedom? They won’t be able to, because they have not lost anything. The movie assumes that if our current course continues the eventual result will be a police state with zero freedom. When people fly planes into our buildings, refuse UN mandates, and pursue nuclear weapons while shouting death to Israel, I believe we are fighting for our freedom, not leading to its destruction.

Save your money.

Take a look. A man that underwent a sex change operation is back substitute teaching for elementary students as a "woman." I could harp on the fact that he’s being called a woman when he’s not. The article says he was married for 33 years with three kids, so I assume he ruined that marriage. Instead I will focus on what really matters: the students.

A complaint given by a parent was "I, as a parent, am appalled to have this issue brought into my child’s psychology." He couldn’t be more right. How do you explain to a 6 year old that Mr. McBeth decided to have his weiner cut off, and now he is Miss McBeth? Crazy liberals would argue that you do it with love, and that children should be raised with an open-mind. A logical conservative would say, "You don’t!" A child should’nt even know about this, let alone be taught by him.

The ACLU and crazy leftists constantly shout acceptance and tolerance for everything, and it’s getting old. When did cutting your weiner off become acceptable? Am I the only on that thinks this guy is INSANE? The fact that he paid someone to cut his weiner off makes him totally unqualified to teach, or even be in the same room as children. But the ACLU will go to court and tell us that this man is not deranged or mentally unstable, he’s just "different."

If you are offended by my repeated use of the word "wiener," I would be glad to change them all to "sausage."

Today is Windows Movie Maker and PowerPoint day! Luckily he gave us headphones so we could edit movies, but I’m using them to listen to www.christianrock.net.

My teacher says lots of silly things everyday, but something he said today was by far his greatest quote to date. We were practicing recording using the "sound recorder" with mics, but not everyone had mics. When someone asked about this my teacher responded as follows:

"You can use your headphone as a microphone, you just have to talk louder."

I am not lying, he really said that. As soon as I heard it I started laughing and wrote it down. He probably misspoke, but it is a heck of a lot funnier to think that is what he really meant.

I haven’t had anything of a political nature on here in a few days, but I have something good for you. A big lie pushed by some crazy liberals is that government run healthcare would be super! This is something the Green Party believes in, and I pointed that out to Mike a couple months back. Our nutty neighbors to the north, Canada, have a government run healthcare system in place. It is ILLEGAL for a citizen to pay for medical procedures or health care, and the system is a disaster. Out of all things crazy and liberal, this is one thing I fear the most.

A site called On the Fence Films has a video about how crazy this would be called Dead Meat. It discusses how people wait months, even YEARS for medical procedures we can have done in the states within days. People from Canada are coming here for medical needs, what does that tell you?

I admit I have not paid much attention to the NSA "leak" story lately. From the beginning it has sounded mostly like another excuse for liberals and the media to attack Bush, but I thought I’d look into the story. The Political Teen has a great video of a debate that gives a decent overview of the issue. Take a look to catch up on some of the latest arguments.

One of the biggest gripes I have with liberals (greens, dems, socialists, many republicans in office, etc) is how much faith they put in the government. Besides the fact that they think a government entity should decide where MY money goes beyond vital infrastructure (see social securty, food stamps, hand outs, etc), these people put a HUGE amount of trust in the goverment.

After both 9/11 and Katrina the government doled out large sums of money. Shockingly people abused (FEMA abuse) the money handed out by the government! (Take a moment to catch your breath, I know it’s hard to believe). Why on earth do liberals trust the government with their money? How naive can you be! The government is not a support system for all the lazy, no good, worthless people in the country. I think as Christians we have a responsiblity to love our neighbor, but I don’t remember God entrusting that responsibility to the stinkin’ government. It’s no wonder that red states give more than blue states, because many liberals think paying taxes is charitable giving. Taxes are to charitable giving as cash is to a drunk outside a liquor store.

The government was not created to give handouts. If you want to throw your hard earned money at people that pay for cable tv and then sign their child up for free or reduced lunch be my guest. Nobody is stopping you from doing idiotic things with your own money, you don’t need the government.

If you thought the interview of Julia Sweeny that Amy posted about was annoying, then you’re going to hate this video clip. Some moron from Air America is arguing with another guy about Christmas. This is why liberals are so annoying.

I don’t think you understand how annoying this is going to be. If you currently are feeling upset, run to the gym and get all that energy out. Do some push-ups, punch a wall, scream at the top of your lungs, and then watch this.
