Starting today we can witness the great onslaught of anti-Bush protestors in New York for the Republican National Convention. I don’t blame the media for covering the protestors, but I do blame them for not accurately representing them. The average viewer might assume that the people protesting are intelligent and pro-active, just out to make sure their voice is heard. However, if we look back at some recent protests of the war in Iraq, the people against Bush probably aren’t your normal Democrats. In fact, they’re probably Ralph Nader fans, because as you’re about to see, most protestors are even farther left than John Kerry. Most are socialist, some appear to have extreme mental disorders, a lot are hippies who miss the 70′s, and all of them make for great interviews. So the other night I was watching some of the Olympics opening ceremony (yawn) to see the US Team get introduced. The announcer was almost shocked by the crowds reaction. “What? The crowd isn’t booing the US? What’s going on!? *ehem* (gaining composure) It looks like the people of Greece like the USA.” This great broadcaster of the olympics went on to say something to the effect of “With the current US Foreign Policy, we weren’t sure what the reaction would be.” Give me a break. Why doesn’t he go on to say anything about how Afghani women are competing again because the US ousted the Taliban? Or how Iraqi olympians are no longer being tortued by Uday Hussein?

We’ve been told so many times that the world “hates” us and good ‘ol John Kerry will be the one to make friends with everyone, it’s just pathetic. The USA is like the Prom King/Queen in High School. Everyone hates and despises them because they’re the best, but everyone wants to go to their after party. I’m sure Chirac and Schroeder were both caught off gaurd like the NBC broadcaster. “What? The World likes America? Freedom loving bastards!”
