Abortion, Sick, Arcade, Camera

There’s a raging abortion debate over at Trent’s website. Don’t miss out!

Sometime last week I got sick, and since then I’ve gotten worse. For the most part it’s just worn me out, but yesterday something happened that I’ve never experienced before. I go to blow my nose and expel some nasty green boogers, but instead of coming out my noise, they enter my right ear instead. INSTANT nausea. The room begins to spin and I have to sit down. The room continues moving as I get sweaty and begin to feel like I’m going to throw up. I swallow, and Stacie can hear the fluids suck back out of my ear from across the room. The spinning stops instantly. The rest of the night I felt like crap, but I am very careful when I blow my nose now!

I upgraded the computer in the arcade with my old “main” computer. All of the programs that run the arcade have since been updated, so it required a little researching and refreshing on the subject. I’m glad to report the arcade is back up and running with a little more horsepower than before. I’m also hoping it’s more stable to get through years and years of arcade playing.

We’re heading to Turlock next weekend for my grandmother’s 89th birthday. I have pretty much everything I need to take the new camera and get in some good test shots. I still need a good carrying case and a tripod, though I could survive without the latter. I bought a wideangle lens, which you can see in action here. I promise to post video that is non-technical soon.

That’s all for now.

A Dream of Mine…

I think it would be way cool to have a video that showed you aging. Something similar to this, but a LOT longer. The problem with all the videos I see on youtube is that they’re over short periods of time like 3-6 years, or the videos are so long that you can’t see any aging taking place. Most of us don’t look that different after a few years, but over decades of course there are big changes. Someone needs to compress 30-50 years of pictures down to 1 minute of video. That would be awesome.

Biggest problem I see is that you need a dedicated space to sit/stand every time you take the picture, and you need a dedicated tripod and camera. The above link is really well done in terms of her head not moving.

30-50 years is an awful long committment though.

Wii Play

The next Wii game I’m looking forward to is called Wii Play. Much like Wii Sports, Wii Play is a compilation of what are really full fledged tech demos. There are 9 total games, from a duck hunt style game to a laser hockey game.

The best part is that the game comes packaged with a Wii Remote, so for $50, it’s like getting the game for $10. Even if the Duck Hunt style game is the only decent one, it’s not a bad deal for $10.

Hopefully third-party developers are paying attention to what works on the Wii.

I also picked up some silicon cases off ebay from HONG KONG! If you didn’t know already, they sell silicon cases for everything imaginable…ipods, ds lites, palm pilots, wii remotes, etc. They’re cool because they don’t add a lot of bulk to items, protect them from scratches, and they’re a little see through (unlike leather). Here is the wii remote cases I bought today.

Last night Chris and I were bored, so we made a movie with the help of Nick! Go watch it.

Get a Free iPod

So I saw an article about this deal probably six months ago. This is a totally legit deal and tons of people have gotten a free iPod for doing this. It’s simple:

1) Complete one "offer."
2) Get 5 friends to complete one "offer" each.
3) Get a free iPod.

I started this about a week ago, but I waited to post until I thought it was legit. I successfully completed my one "offer" and now I just need to refer five other people. The offer I completed was a piece of cake. It’s called "Real Rhapsody," and all I had to do was sign-up for it, then call and cancel, and a week later I received credit for it. To make it even easier for you, I’ve got the cancellation number right here. So here’s what to do.

1) Go sign up for a free iPod and use this link to refer me.
2) Find the Real Rhaposdy sign-up (or another if you think there is an easier one) and complete the offer. Most are just free trials which you can sign-up for and cancel. Most require a credit card.
3) If you do the Real Rhapsody one, then call 1-866-834-5509 from 9am – 9pm EST Mon-Fri, or 10:30am – 8pm EST Sat-Sun and cancel.

And that’s all. Then wait about a week and you should receive an email notifying you that your offer was completed. The email was actually marked as spam by my gmail, so watch for it. Then you just have to get 5 people to sign up and YOU get a free iPod! If you’re gonna try it post a comment. It’s super easy!!
