Today I took and passed my CSET, but for a few hours prior to that I was sitting at McDonald’s studying. Let me suggest to you, that if you are ever bored, go sit at a McDonald’s. The people and events you will see or both annoying and hilarious at the same time.

Lonely Babies

Most normal and intelligent mothers do NOT leave their babies alone, especially in a public place such as McDonald’s. However, today I witnessed two women leave their THREE babies alone.

While this was slightly annoying, it became quite amusing. Two children had salt shakers, which they were banging on the table and licking and having a great time. The third kid however had a pepper shaker. When he turned red and starting crying from licking the pepper shaker, my annoyance towards the mothers turned to amusement. I have a feeling that kid will be eating paint chips when he’s older.

The Math Whiz

A little while after the babies left, a guy/girl couple came in, roughly 18 years old. They proceeded to order their food and then found a nearby table. The conversation I overheard was quite funny. The girl had the health information sheet for McDonald’s and was reading it. And I quote:

Girl: "Chicken Selects have 1240 calories. That’s like your daily quotient of food. The 10 piece Chicken Selects are death."

While she was funny, her boyfriend was the math whiz. I assume the girl had only partially eaten her hamburger when she turned to him and said:

Girl: What’s 2/3 of 460?
Guy: 90?
Girl: Wow, you can do math in your head?

Hurry, go to McDonald’s, now.

Last Tuesday!

Tonight at The Burn we had a really awesome band come play called Last Tuesday. I’d heard them on an internet radio station a few months back and bought their CD online. I shot them an e-mail asking if they ever play in Cali, and one of the guys Carl wrote me back saying they’d be here to record in Jan/Feb. So as the date got closer we worked out the details and they were able to make it!

LTF opened for them, and then they played a great 40 min set. Everyone seemed to have a great time and the band sold a lot of stuff. To make it even better, they were just an awesome group of guys. They’ve got a new album coming out in May that they worked on with Matt from Relient K, and I can’t wait to see how awesome it is.

Thanks to everyone that helped put it together. Timmy, Hector, Mike…couldn’t have happened without you guys. Thanks to everyone that showed up to! Rock on.

Yasser Arafat is Dead! Hooray.

So most of the big media is treating Yasser Arafat like a hero instead of the murderer that he is. This shouldn’t be a big surprise though. This is the same media that reports palestinian terror attacks as an act of “defense and determination.” Whatever the case, I think his death is a great time to look back at all the horrible things this man did during his life. Many were before I was born, but they shouldn’t be forgotten. Too bad big media doesn’t get it.<

Israeli News Gets Arafat Right – Long read, but TONS of information you won’t see anywhere else.

Stacie’s Birthday

Well last night we went out for Stacie’s birthday and had a good time. We went out to the Irvine Spectrum for dinner and a movie. We went to the Yardhouse for dinner and Stacie had shrimp and pasta and I got a burger. It’s so funny to watch all the single people there that are trying to look cool and pick people up. After dinner we saw Wimbeldon, a good girl movie and a sports movie. I was surprised that there was almost more tennis in it than romance. We both managed to stay awake through the whole thing (10pm show) so that was an accomplishment. Overall we had a great time.

Miss America

Last night, primarily because nothing better was on, I ended up watching a majority of the Miss America Pageant. We had a great time discussing how pointless the whole thing is.

1) One of the contestants referred to the pageant as a job! Now granted, I’ve never been crowned Miss America…but I’m not sure it’s a "job." They go and make public appearances throughout the year…but what for? It’s not like they accomplished anything of actual value. That leads to the next point.

2) What exactly do they win for? Being the best at wearing clothes? How on earth is that a worthwhile competition? Oooh, look at me, I can wear a dress better than you! Wow, what a waste of time. What’s even more amazing is how important the women think the whole process is. How did wearing a swimsuit in heels become some major accomplishment?

3) And the best reason Miss America should be cast off the planet: too much eye-makeup.

My Car VS Wild Beast

Yesterday Stacie and I spent the day at the San Diego Zoo. We had a great time, and I’ll be posting pictures soon. The ride home however wasn’t so fun.

About 30 miles North of San Diego, cruising 70 mph in the far left lane of the 5 freeway, something appeared before my car: a BEAST. The freeway was near pitch black, so I only saw the beast for a split second. It was the size of a dog, but had the shape of a cat. As soon as my headlights lit the beast up, I began to swerve out of the way…but alas, it was too late. With a loud *thud* my car smacked into the head of the beast. At first it was unclear what the damage was, so we pulled off the freeway to check it out. It wasn’t pretty.

As you can see it ripped through my bumper and significantly tweaked my fender. But luckily Stacie and I were ok. The car will get fixed and life will move on. If you have a weak stomach, please avert your eyes from the next photo. It shows the nastiness left from the beast.

And if you’re wondering, I’m pretty sure I won the battle. If you’re driving around the San Diego area though, keep your eyes open for the ghost of a headless BEAST!
