MAME and Waking Up Early

When I setup the arcade I made sure that my MAME (an arcade emulator) collection was fully up to date as of that version of mame. Well that was a year and a half ago, and I’ve never updated it. Over the last couple days I’ve been working on updating that list and backing up all the information/settings on the arcade. It would be a shame if that went down and I lost all my settings. There is a cool program called ClrMame which will scan your roms and check for bad and missing ones. It will even take updates and rebuild roms you already have with the new updates.

Today I woke up at 5:20 am. Myself and a couple guys from work got breakfast at Carrows and had a little mini-bible study. It was cool, but holy cow that is early. The wife was still in bed when I left! They want to do it every week, but I dunno. It’s only 5th period and I’m dead tired.

Thank goodness it’s a three day weekend.

What? The USA is OK?

John Ziegler was arguing last night that if a Democrat were in the White House public opinion of the economy and war would be quite different. We would be hearing about how the economy is booming (in spite of 9/11 and Katrina, and like we always did under Clinton), the war in Afghanistan was a huge success removing the Taliban, and how the Iraq war is going well (fast victory, Saddam is gone, country is rebuilding). Except all we hear about is what a failure everything is, it’s ridiculous. Even Joe Lieberman is saying Iraq is going well (alternate link if you dismiss FOX News just because it’s FOX News). Thank goodness for alternative media and the truth. By alternative media I include the internet (Drudge, blogs, etc), and radio talk shows (Elder, Savage, Medved, etc).

We’re Back!

And we’re tired! Pictures, posts, and all that goodness coming soon. Night. :)

That’s right, it’s the day before the wedding, and here is your one last super blarg update, full of super updatey goodness!

So all the major work and planning is done. Yesterday and today have been spent becoming super organized freaks. You would think aspects like booking a site, DJ, flowers, etc. would be the hard part, but it’s not. The hardest part is making sure all the favors are there, someone puts them out, and someone takes a picture of them. I’m not belittling any of that, but it’s the large number of little things that makes a wedding such a pain. Worth it, but a pain at times. :)

I’m planning something cool for the reception. You know how all grooms have to do there one thing that is unique? Well I’ve got mine. It will probably only be funny to 2 people, but I will enjoy it. haha.

So our couch and loveseat came the day before the wedding. I wish we’d had more time to enjoy it, but at least we got to make sure it was a-ok before we left. It looks just brown, but it’s got a little blue that matches our one wall in it. The side seats recline, which we really didn’t want, but we liked this style. My favorite part though is the pillows. They’re cool.

The grass is still growing and the lines are disappearing. I need a small lawnmower, so keep your eyes open. I also don’t know when I’m first supposed to mow it. I think it’s got a pretty good hold in the ground, but seeing how I don’t have a lawnmower yet, and I’m getting married tomorrow, the grass will have to wait until I get back.

Well that does it for the One Last Super Blarg Update. I hope you have enjoyed the show. I’m spending the night at my parents one last time before the big day, so this will probably be my last interaction with a computer for some time. If I run across a computer in Hawaii I’ll make sure to pop on and give you a special "Hawaii Edition" post. Until next time….blarg!

In Good Company: My Review

Stacie and I saw “In Good Company” tonight. It has the redhead guy from That 70′s show, the girl from Lost in Translation that was boring, and Dennis Quaid. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything.

It’s basically a romantic comedy with some “feel goodness” thrown in. I also enjoyed it because it was realistic. So many times Hollywood movies are far fetched or too good to be true, but this movie dances to it’s own drum.

It’s not laugh outloud funny in many parts, but you’ll leave with a smile on your face. PG-13 for some choice language. I give it 3 stars.
