New Design for the Blarg

Since I left blogger I had to completely redo my layout. Instead of just using the old graphics I decided to make something new. I looked through tons of wordpress themes to find something I liked and could tweak somewhat. Though I am not much of an artist, I think I like the title graphic and will try it out for a while. If you look closely, the background text is a very rigid font (arial), and the foreground font is much more loose. The rigid font expresses my often serious look at politics and other important life decisions, while the fun font represents my odd sense of humor that often makes its way into my posts. Yes, I really did just say that.

With all things artistic, I find that familiarity breeds likeability. The old blarg design had been intact since around January, and I’m sure this new design will take some getting used to. Cheers to all the people moving to wordpress and those beginning to blog. May all our wits become sharper each day.

Survivor: Vanuatu ended tonight with Chris victorious. This survivor was ok, but didn’t find myself rooting for anyone. No one stood out as real likable or fun, but it was still enjoyable. There were a few excitin moments that made me cheer, but mostly I enjoy spending time with Stacie every week. :) Don’t get me wrong, I’m counting the days until the next Survivor, it’s just that this one didn’t have the most interesting people. Luckily people keep watching, so they’ll keep making it!

O’ Christmas Tree

Today is November 30th, and tomorrow officially begins the month of yuletide glee. I don’t know what a yuletide is, but it sounds like it’s related to the ocean. Anyways, this is one of my favorite times of year. For one month most people’s priorities change ever so slightly. Greed is replaced with gratitude. Earnest replaced with peace. People seem to cheer up just because it’s the month of December. Maybe it’s fond memories of their past childhood, or dreamy images of tinsel and lights. Maybe it’s promised vacation time that is well overdue, or a final chance to catch up on things unfinished. Or, maybe it’s the end to a bad year…with prospects of a better one ahead. Whatever your frame of mind this Christmas, I hope we can all enjoy the season while it’s here.
