This morning on the radio they said the Bears are 11-2. That means they’ve played 13 games already. I didn’t even know it was football season (maybe on my unconscious level I did).

As far as I’m concerned it’s still baseball season.

The USA beat Japan, woot. I am going to cheer on my good friend Hee-Seop Choi in a couple hours.

I should be lesson planning so I have something to teach tomorrow.

My sister and Paul came by and brought Boo a dog treat, and she really likes it.

I read the first 4-5 chapters of the book of Acts this morning. I had a really funny idea for a comedy sketch. When they are replacing Judas, they actually consider two guys for his place, Barsabas and Matthias. They cast lots and end up choosing Matthias. I was thinking, wouldn’t it make a great Monty Python sketch to follow the life of the "almost replacement 12th disciple," Barsabas?

Baseball season is starting, and I will only be able to watch about 1 game a week on television because we don’t have sattelite or cable. I could get Dish Network’s $20 family pack, and add Fox Sports for $6, which is pretty cheap. It would be really cool to have ESPN HD and Discovery HD too though, but then we’re talking closer to $60, which I’m not sure I can justify. Or should I only be watching 1 game of Dodger baseball a week anyways?

Ok, gotta leave for the game in an hour, better plan some lessons.

My first MVP Baseball season on my dynasty is coming to a close. With only 7 games left in the regular season, my Los Angeles Dodgers are 5 games back of the Padres in the West, but they have clinched a playoff berth! Until recently there was hope of catching the Padres, but that was before the Pirates swept us (stop laughing, they’re much better on the videogame).

After I finish the regular season comes the playoffs, and after the postseason is the offseason. During this time people retire, I can draft new rookies, and I have to re-sign current players. The attributes of players even changes where some improve and some get older and lose a little something.

This is by far the best sports game I’ve ever played. There are so many ways to tweak the difficulty of the game for your specific skill level and keep it challenging. My team better turn things around and go into the playoffs on a high note! I’ll keep you posted.

In case you haven’t seen my profile…

nathan118: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

My body must have needed some catch up, because I slept for 3.5 hours this afternoon. I guess that was good, except I totally missed Random Acts of Kindness, but it sounded like they had a good time.

I started watching the first season of 24. Usually I watch all my taped shows from the week during the weekend, but everything was a re-run. I’m diggin’ the concept.

I’m now 10-21 in my MVP baseball season. Yes, that’s horrible, but I’ve been doing better lately. Finally getting up to playing .500 ball. It’s still way fun to lose. I have a baseball game on gameboy that I went like 145-17…it was way too easy.

We put the offer on the house on Saturday…but they have 3 business days to respond, so that starts tomorrow. So far I’m not too stressed. I keep telling myself we aren’t going to get it, and so if we really don’t, I won’t be disappointed. Here’s hoping we hear something tomorrow!

My test is less than a week away. I think I’m going to take two days this week to study for it. I can’t wait to get it over with. I’m bummed though, I’ll miss a lot of Lori and Angelo’s wedding. :( Dumb test doesn’t start until 2 pm!

Time for bed.

It’s baseball season again, and that’s always a good thing. I was able to watch bits and pieces of a spring training game today, and I got in a few games on MVP Baseball. I’m still trying to find a good difficulty level, but right now I’m 2-4 in my dynasty with the Dodgers. Good stuff.

Tomorrow I start my super CSET studying. I’m planning on putting in 4 hours tomorrow, and another 4 on Sunday. I put in an application at DUSD today to try and get hired for next year. It sounds promising, but that makes it even more important that I pass the CSET. I might be stressing too much about it, but I’d rather be over-prepared.

Stacie and I are still looking at condos and townhomes. It’s an odd predicament…on one hand it’s a little early to buy a place, but we’re also pretty specific about what we want. The danger then is sure we might get the place 3 months early…but that’s better than not finding a place at all. However, having it that soon would give us a lot of time to paint or whatever we want to do.

Everything for the wedding is shaping up pretty well. All our vendors are decided on, Stacie almost has the bride’s maid dresses picked, we’re looking at registries. Fairly soon we need to pick out invitations and I need to do some tuxedo shopping. Kurtis and Kevin are already wanting to know what we’re doing for the bachelor party. :D Any ideas?

So I started this blog near the tail end of the baseball season, so you may not know that I’m a huge Dodgers fan. Several of the Dodger players are up for special awards, but one of the most notables is little Cesar Izturis. He’s been a regular on the Dodgers for three years now I believe, and each year he just gets better and better. Below you can find a video clip of a really awesome play he made. I can’t wait for the next season to start and for all the new baseball videogames to come out.

Go Izzy!
