I’ve got a few days before my monthly deadline, but I can be a little early, can’t I?
I thoroughly enjoyed the month of November. Some of the things Luke is doing just blow me away. Here’s a couple examples:
1) The other day he’s running around our room turning lights on and off. He’s flipping light switches on and off, and pulling on the chains on our bedside lamps. But then he get’s to my lamp, which is plugged into a wall outlet controlled by a switch. So he runs up and pulls the chains, but no light comes on. Then he pauses, and declares, “Me have an idea!” He then runs over to the switch that controls that lamp, and flips it on. He then looks extremely proud of himself.
2) Again with lights. He’s running back and forth between two light switches turning them on, but every time he does, I quickly turn it off. So by the time he gets to one, I’ve turned the other off, and over and over. Eventually he starts to get tired, and he’s trying to stand on his tiptoes to turn the light on, but he’s too tired to reach. So what does he do? He runs off into his room without a word. Stacie and I look at each other, wondering what on earth he’s doing. We hear some banging and babbling, and the next thing I know he appears back in our room with his potty step-stool, sets it down in front of the light, and then stands on it and turns the light on.
It seems so simple, but when you watch your little guy grow every day, these little advances in his intelligence are just amazing. It makes me feel so blessed and thankful to have the family that I do.
More to say, but I’ll leave it at that for now. Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was great.
