Two Months

In a few hours Luke will be 2 months old. Today he went for a check-up and some vaccinations. From what I’ve been told he was a very good boy. During the shots he turned beet red, but after only a few minutes of crying he was over it.

Something we’ve been looking forward to is having him measured. There is some strange satisfaction about how big your kid is, it’s so hard to explain. He was born 8lbs 8oz, and he is now 13lbs 14.5oz. He was born 21 inches long, he is now 24 1/4 inches. He’s a big boy! That puts him somewhere around the 90th percentile for both weight and length. My dad even found the growth chart from when I was a baby, and Luke is already beating me by over a pound. Way to go son!

Baby Luke in HD!

I have a lot of video to edit, but we shot some last night and I figured heck, I’ll put it online so everyone can see him. This is fresh from the cutting room floor. No, we don’t really have a cutting room, but it sounds super cool to say that.

Survivor 17 is in HD!

For the first time ever Survivor will be in High Definition! The next season doesn’t start until the fall, but I’m super excited. Survivor was the first major reality show, and now it’s going HD! Here’s hoping this leads other reality shows to move to HD. I’m crossing my fingers it’s true HD and not 16×9 SD (like some of Hell’s Kitchen), though either are better than what we’ve got now.

Some Long Overdue Luke

I know, it’s been a long time since baby pictures. We haven’t taken very many in the last week because the little dude had a terrible face rash…and we’ve been tired. But it’s Saturday now, so I’ve got a few minutes, and a few pictures!

Our friends Lydia and Joe came over and brought their beautiful little girl Nicole. I don’t know if she uses one L or two, so she’ll have to correct me if I’m wrong with just one. I love this picture because Luke has the crazy eyes!

On Sunday we went to Brian’s baptism and then to Fanny and Mark’s for lunch. As you can see, Luke still had a bit of his rash going on. His poor face looks all swollen. It also seemed to affect his ability to pose for a picture.

Luke is funny lately sleeping in his bassinet. He likes to turn himself to his right until he’s wedged in like this. Silly boy!

We’re heading over to my mom’s house today for mother’s day lunch, and then we’re doing lunch again tomorrow with Stacie’s mom. It’s a jam packed mother’s day weekened!

I’m planning to upgrade wordpress and make some nifty changes to the blarg to keep it fresh, but for now you will have to get excited about a new plugin I put on today.

I want everyone to post a comment to this post, because if you don’t, you’ll never see the new plugin! Right now you will have 3 minutes after you comment to change what you posted. All you have to do is click on your post! This should come in handy for fixing spelling mistakes or if you decide that cussing me out wasn’t a good idea (or maybe you didn’t and it would be!), you can now go back and edit your comment before it becomes final. After the 3 mins the comment becomes permanent, but it’s nice to have the opportunity to fix them.

So post a comment and try it! If you want to add this plugin to your wordpress blog, visit the WP Ajax Edit Comments page.

Today we’ve decided to really hunker down and figure out how to get this baby to sleep. Overall we don’t think Luke is getting near enough sleep, and that’s making life difficult during the day and at night. There are a couple interesting books we’re going to checkout, and something we’ve decided to do is just put him down to sleep more. We think he’s getting used to being held already! Last night he slept for 6.5 hours, but 4 of those were on my chest in bed, and that’s no good for me. Stacie is going to check out a book at the library, so I’ll be sure to keep you posted on our baby sleeping endeavors.

He’s got a pretty nasty rash on the sides of his face (which I think is in part from so much chest sleeping) but here are a few pre-rash on the face pictures.

We put him in his crib the other day, and he didn’t like it very much. That was before we were concerned with his sleeping habits though, so hopefully in the next few days I’ll have a better picture with a sleeping baby. :)
