I’ve been assured by the doctor that no, we’re not having an alien. It’s actually a real human baby. Yup, we’re pregnant. :)

Take a minute to look at the picture above. Do you see it?! Click here for the answer.

Stacie is almost 3 months pregnant, and has a tentative due date of March 21st. Today we had our first ultra-sound, which you see above. It’s pretty hard to see in the still image, but it was very cool seeing the moving image. Before the lady even pointed it out I could see it bouncing around. They show you the heartbeat, and for the first time in a couple months, you finally feel a little relief that things are going well. Poor Stacie was laying on the table and missed most of the show.

So there it is. The Blarg is going to be a father.

Disturbia

We watched the movie Disturbia tonight, and I have to say, it was pretty darned entertaining. It was suspenseful, Shia LeBouf isn’t too bad an actor, and it’s got the annoying cop from House.

There’s a scene in a hardware store, and it’s All-American. I recognized their signs and the layout. Way cool. I highly recommend it for the Netflix inclined.

Over at ESPN.com a baseball player’s blog said there should be more minorities in little league (which means there are too many white kids!). It was the perfect opportunity for me to jump in and add to the conversation. Feel free to add yourself, but you have to register first.

In an earlier post I talked about a new 2007 Camry we bought, which I then subsequently began to hate. I know hating things isn’t nice, but I think it’s ok to hate a car. And really, I hated it.

Selling a new car and losing money isn’t my first choice when it comes to car financing, but that’s the way it had to be. After driving Stacie’s Jetta for over 3k miles on our roadtrip, I decided to test drive a new Jetta. Thankfully it drove just as well, and I was excited. I test drove an Altima, a Civic, and they both drove similar to the Camry. The Jetta however drove completely different.

I’m happy to report the Camry is out of our lives, and I now have a car I can drive for 15 years and actually enjoy owning.

Isn’t it so cute that we both drive Jettas now? Yes, a little gay (is it offensive to insinuate that gay men tend to be effeminate? I did a lot of research on this during vacation, just watch HGTV. Or what if I add the word “could,” so that it doesn’t imply that all gay men are effeminate?). Yes, it could be gay. I might have to buy another one of these to put on the back. And I mean the punk rocker, not the gay butterfly (was that offensive too?).

I think it would be way cool to have a video that showed you aging. Something similar to this, but a LOT longer. The problem with all the videos I see on youtube is that they’re over short periods of time like 3-6 years, or the videos are so long that you can’t see any aging taking place. Most of us don’t look that different after a few years, but over decades of course there are big changes. Someone needs to compress 30-50 years of pictures down to 1 minute of video. That would be awesome.

Biggest problem I see is that you need a dedicated space to sit/stand every time you take the picture, and you need a dedicated tripod and camera. The above link is really well done in terms of her head not moving.

30-50 years is an awful long committment though.

Blog Wars?

If you’re not using Google Reader, you should be! It makes reading and keeping up on blogs quite easy. It also has a cool built in “trends” option. From there it shows who has been posting, and how frequently. My list has pretty much everyone on it, but if you’re not there I apologize. Let me know so I can add you to my google reader.

Here are the number of posts over the last 30 days, so keep in mind, the minute I post this it will become old data. The nice thing is it gathers all the info on it’s own, so no extra work for me!

Blog Trends

IGN Wii comes in first, but that’s not really fair. Comments on Andrew’s website come in second, haha. That’s because he has an awesome wordpress plugin and people are always asking questions about it. I come in third, but I’ve been helped by my almost daily roadtrip posts.

So take a look and see where you rank. Kind of fun, no?

Catching Up On Vacations…

We went on a cruise before the roadtrip, and I never even made a post about it! Here it is.

Right after Andrew and Sarah’s wedding we took a short, 4 night cruise to San Diego, Catalina, and Ensenada. The sights weren’t very exciting, but before spending the big bucks to do a European, Alaskan, or some other expensive cruise, we thought we’d try out a shorter one first.

Overall we had a good time. I was really impressed with the quality of the food in their dining room. It was fancy, elegant, and actually tasted good! The buffet room that is open almost all the time wasn’t very good though. They had a pizza bar that was open most of the time also, and that was tasty.

And now for some pictures!

Monarch of the Seas
This is our boat, the Monarch of the Seas. It was a Royal Carribean cruise.

Wrigley Botanical Gardens
This is at the Wrigley Botanical Gardens on Catalina Island. I made Stacie walk the whole way to the top, but I was nice and we took the trolley back. It wasn’t very exciting, mainly a bunch of weird cactus and a burial site. We saw this on Huel Howser’s show, haha.

Monkey Towel
Every night they would present your towels in some cute way. Can anyone guess what this one is?

Now I’m going to go through the pictures from the roadtrip. There are only about 1000 of them, but I’m sure I can trash quite a few.

Blog Commenting…

I’m doing a terrible job of commenting on other people’s blogs lately. The problem is I’ll read stuff when I only have a few minutes, and in that short time I can’t think of anything to say, so I close it and leave. Then I forget to ever come back and leave a comment. Or when I do leave one, I never come back to see if anyone left another one after me.

I promise to be more diligent in blog commenting. For now I’ll blame it on vacation.
