Stupid Pigeons…

Above our bedroom window there is a slight edge, probably 6 inches wide. Recently there are a few pigeons that have decided this would make a wonderful home for their family. Unfortunately for them I’m having none of that!

I couldn’t say for sure if they’re the same pigeons everyday, but for the last 3 days I’ve had to chase them away with a proper dousing of water. Everytime they wake me up from a deep sleep it gets more annoying, and everytime I spray them with the hose it gets more enjoyable.

Die birds!

The proponents of social justice are throwing a party tonight. Why you may ask? Because UCLA will have more black students next year! Woo Hoo!

You might remember that last year I brought up this very important issue right here on The Blarg. I’m glad to report that my efforts have been successful, and UCLA is more black this year. You might think intelligence or academics would be a more important basis for evaluating a person than their skin color, but you’re wrong! The color of a person’s skin far outways anything like personal responsibility or hardwork.

Unfortunately our job is not done. It is my goal to make sure that by 2015 every single student at UCLA will be black. There are some who might cry foul at such a suggestion, but those people are evil and mean (and probably asian and white). No black person would ever want to be judged by the content of their character, but only by the color of their skin. This was of course Martin Luther King Jr.’s motto.

Please join me in this uphill battle of making sure that everyone at UCLA is black, and that the discrimination of considering things like talent and skill are done away with. No person should have to be judged because of who they are as a person, but solely by the color of their skin. Together, we can make a difference.

I’ll start with a few thoughts on “writing” and then jump into completely random nonsense.

I’ve been planning my first novel for almost 3 weeks now. While I haven’t been able to work on it constantly, I’m always thinking of ideas. I never realized it was such a complex process. One of the strangest aspects is that it’s very hard to assume the view of your would be reader, primarily because I know how the story is going to unfold. Their is no suspense for me, and I’ll never have the experience of reading the first chapter and having no idea where it’s going. Weird. I’m very close to beginning the actual writing.

Now for randomness. I bought a rubik’s cube off ebay. I’ve done a little reading about how to approach solving it, but it’s still tricky as all get out.

I electronically submitted the taxes. We did pretty good this year and came out almost even. We’re getting money back from the feds, but we owe the state about the same.

I’m not a big fan of posts like this where people just list what they are doing. It’s like a really bad diary entry. There should be a lot more question marks in a good blog post. What do you think? (See, that question mark invites you to share you opinion. Without it you read this whole thing and go “ok, so what.”)

I might as well invite more discussion with this request: I need names for characters in the book. I know who they are pretty much, but I have yet to give them specific names. This will also give you a small insight into the plot. :) I need names for:

  1. Male – Physicist/Mechanical Engineer
  2. Female – Print Journalist/Reporter
  3. Male – Head of the National Security Administration
  4. Male – Average Joe

Have fun!
