This is a little story a college professor told me in my undergrad.
In one of her classes the prof was teaching she had a student confront her about a grade she’d received on a paper. The student approached the professor after class, and she wasn’t happy. She told the professor that she knew why her grade was bad, and it was because the professor was racist. The professor was of Egyptian descent, and apparently the student of something else.
The professor calmly looked at the girl and told her she was wrong. She didn’t get a bad grade because of her race. Apparently the professor didn’t like the girl, but the professor told her it had nothing to do with her race. The prof told her "I don’t like you because of you. Please take it personally."
Some people need to stop using the color of their skin as an out. Take responsibility for who you are as a person, and stop looking for excuses.
