Saw a trailer for this new movie called 300, and it looks pretty sweet. Says it’s based off a graphic novel, which I might have to check out. Take a look at a trailer or two. I love the art direction, it actually looks like a graphic novel.
Never read the novel (unaware one existed) but the movie is a rehash of “300 Spartans” where ancient Persia, bent on world conquest is made to rethink its plans by a small band of determined Greeks (starring the great Richard Egan as the Greek general Leonidas). The trailer I of the new movie even repeats an exchange between leaders of the warring nations (Persian leader to Greeks: “When we loose our arrows, they will blot out the sun”! Greek leader to Persian: “Then we will fight in the shade!”) Looking forward to seeing it.
"Obama spoke grandly about 'pressing the reset button' on international relations, as if all the international commitments of the past were his to disregard...We are already seeing the consequences. Even Turkey – formally a NATO ally – is cozying up to Iran, now that it is painfully clear that Obama is not going to do anything that has any realistic chance of stopping Iran from going nuclear." - Thomas Sowell
