Is It Summer Yet?

I’ve got a few posts rolling around in my head that I haven’t written yet, so I thought I’d post about them.

We did a bunch of work in our backyard yesterday, so I have pictures of that. I have ideas for a post about the History of Annoying Hip-Hop and how it came into existence. Tonight we’re going to Alcatraz Brewing Co. at the block with some friends, and then over to Lucky Strike bowling I think. I’ve been looking at upgrade options for the computer also.

So look for those in the coming days. Right now we’re just enjoying our time off. The warm weather and all the time together makes it feel like the weeks after our honeymoon, which is a really great feeling. :)

Prison Break Oh My Gosh!

Abruzzi is alive?! Scofield kissesTancredi?! Lincoln is on the run?!

Prison Break is just off the hook! Every week has got me on the edge of my seat, and even sometimes falling off. Stupid Haywire, you should have stuck with Scofield. Screw that Gary guy taking C-Note’s money. The "company" and "the man" are at odds. I don’t know if I will survive a whole summer away from this show. It’s sweeeeet!

Spring Break!

Our spring break officially starts today giving us 9 straights days of no work and no kids. Hallelujah.

So far we’ve watched recordings of Survivor and Lost, ate at Marissa’s last night, and had BK for breakfast this morning. We don’t have plans to go anywhere or do anything very substantial. We’ve got a busy Easter Sunday tomorrow, a little school work and lesson plans to accomplish by the end of Spring Break. I feel like we should accomplish some stuff around the house, but not sure what exactly. We might hit pier 1 or cost plus and find some cute decorations/embellishments for the house. Our walls are still pretty sad looking. We finished our taxes the other day, so not stressing with that this weekend. Got a new blarg friend to the right for you to check out. Paul finally has some of his awesome work on display for the world to see.

As I relax over spring break I probably won’t be as amped up about the illegal army invading our borders and things of that nature. Who knows, maybe I’ll find the energy to make posts of a whimsical nature.

Stop Whining Dick!

Dick Durbin is a whiner. "Ooooh, gas is too expensive! Maybe if I whine about it people will vote for me, because lots of Americans are whiners too." His "solution" to high gas prices? Taxing oil companies for making money! Oil companies make a lot of money, he doesn’t like it, so he thinks he can tax them for that? Why don’t we start taxing Microsoft and McDonald’s for making lots of money?

Americans do NOT have a right to cheap gasoline prices. Get a bike, walk, ride a horse, I don’t care. Stop crying victim!

Just wanted to bring to your attention the latest stunt from PETA. I’m not being anti-vegetarian, just anti-PETA.

Cool Music Links

Found a couple cool music links today. The first allows your profile to be updated with whatever music you’re currently listening to. The only requirements are GAIM, the MusicInfo plug-in, and Winamp. Requires zero effort once it is setup, and makes your profile constantly change!

The second cool music link comes courtesy of Milky. It’s a website called Last.fm and it tracks your listening and creates charts based on what you’ve listened to. A simple plug-in for your favorite media player, and the tracks you listen to are automatically uploaded to their site. Here’s a link to my profile (and Milky’s). An interesting feature is that what you listen to is compared to what other people listen to. I’m hoping it opens me up to some new bands that might be in the same arena of music I enjoy.

John and Ken were talking about the rally held here in Los Angeles the other day. One of the people that led the rally was public servant Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The man that is in charge of the city of Los Angeles had these amazing words to say:

"Today we say to America — we’ve come here to work," Villaraigosa told the crowd near Olvera Street. "We clean your toilets. We clean your hotels. We build your houses. We take care of your children. We want you to help us take care of our children as well."

I find this statement interesting for two reasons. Notice how the Mayor uses the term "we" over and over. He is including himself with illegal aliens, and promoting the breaking of our nation’s laws. The second part I find interesting is the work he claims illegal aliens do, and also the order that he lists.

"We Clean Your Toilets"

Out of every job held by an illegal alien, the first one he can come up with is "we clean your toilets?" This is amusing for several reasons. 1) The mayor is admitting that he cleans people’s toilets (hence the funny picture) and 2) IT’S NOT IMPORTANT! I can clean my own toilet thank you very much. If every illegal alien was deported, the worst thing that would happen is our toilets wouldn’t get cleaned? HA! Our economy will not be falling apart due to dirty toilets.

Don’t believe the nonsense that our country won’t survive without illegal aliens, it’s rubbish.

I think Donald Trump would be proud. A meatpacker in Detroit fired 15 people for missing work to go to an illegal alien protest march. What shocks me is the nerve that these aliens have.

"It was not fair,’" said Mercedes, a 31-year-old Detroit woman who attended the rally and was fired. "We went to fight for our rights." Mercedes is undocumented and asked that her last name not be used.

Boo hoo. You’re illegal, you don’t have rights! What has our country come to that people think they have a right to invade our country, and then demand that they be employed?
