The Year of Kong is Upon Us

King Kong lives, and on Wednesday, December 14th, he will be roaring into theatres. In case you are not excited yet, here are a few links to get you hyped up for what some are saying could be a Titanic killer.

Something I love to do before a movie comes out is put up a background on my computer. Then for the weeks leading up it gets me all excited. Hurry, go get excited.

What do you think this role will do for Jack Black? Make viewers scratch their heads or give a thumbs up of approval on the casting choice? I think he’s good for it.

I think Jack Black will be awesome, as long as his character is serious enough to be believable (ie Jim Carrey post Ace Ventura). The movie Mars Attacks was on TV over the weekend, and Jack Black was actually in it. That was funny.

People have complained that the opening sequence is too long and boring. Personally I love long movies if they can keep me interested. I don’t want fluff just to make the movie longer, but I’m already carving out a couple hours of my day to see a movie, and another 30 mins to an hour isn’t a big deal. More bang for your buck!

agreed on the long movie topic. If it takes that long to tell a story, then do it, but don’t put any filler in for the SAKE of length.

I really liked the headline on Drudge a couple days ago, something like “makes grown men cry”. I’m too much of a man to cry too, so I’ll probably just laugh nervously when appropriate.

It should be a super good movie and I have all the confidence in the world that Peter Jackson will give us another excellent film. The people complaining about length should stick to sitcoms where they only have to invest less than an hour to get something out of it. You may have to invest over 2 hours into King Kong but I think the payoff will be much more than 2 times of what you get out of a sitcom.

speaking of long shots in movies…there is a French movie, can’t think of the name, but the entire movie is shot in one take. If I find the name I’ll post it. THAT would be interesting to watch.

Jack Black was fine, people don’t give him credit because he’s done humor…

Overall the movie was AWESOME, moved slow in the beginning (because you want to get to that island so bad) but when the action starts, you’ll know…

CG was amazing!!! (I’ll have a hard time watching jurassic park now!!)

Some of the best use in surround i’ve heard in a movie.

Go see it as large as possible!
