California Special Election Results

I couldn’t agree more. Everyone clamours for change, but won’t actually TRY anything.

“Hi, I am a registered Democrat. I’m anti (insert any GOP idea here, good or not).”

I’ve got an idea. Let’s run the state assembly like jury duty, because the people we pick to represent us certainly can’t get their thumbs unstuck. I want my shot! No more parties. The party system has become an anchor.

It was dumb to call it pointless then.

But now it is pointless.

Not a single proposition was passed so there was no change, and it was a special election so even more money from the state.

The special election results send a clear message that one ought only to vote for an initiative that succinctly addresses an issue of overwhelming public concern; not a political wish list of authoritarian control. We must respect the rights of the family and the community to support their members’ rights and responsibiilities. We do not need more laws; we need to empower people to communicate openly and negotiate fairly, to find commonalitity of interests not hierarchies of power. One size does not fit all, especially in the diverse demographics of California. The more local the control, the better the fit; government regulation is a last resort. Empower the people.
