I ate the CSET for breakfast.

I showed the CSET who’s boss.

I made the CSET cry like a little baby who wants its mommy.

I saw the CSET on the corner today and it ran into oncoming traffic when it saw me approaching.

I passed the CSET.

Boo Ya!

Odds and Ends…

I don’t have anything profound to say, so I will say many smaller and less profound things.

Chris Luna ditched me today to eat lunch with the Humberts. Then to his surprise I ate at the same place they did, ha!

In less than 3 weeks I’ll be married and in Hawaii. Yikes.

I find out in less than 24 hours if I passed my second math test and whether or not I’m qualified to teach.

Stacie won’t let me play “Welcome to the Jungle” for our entrance music.

The Dodgers suck, but I’m a real fan and like them anyways.

My new hard drive is still working, all 250 glorious gigabytes. I am filling it with old sci-fi shows that were only on for one season: Nowhere Man, Space Above and Beyond, and Earth 2.

Because Stacie won’t let me play “Welcome to the Jungle” for our entrance, I’m going to play it for the garter toss, ha!

That’s all, yay summer.

Quicktime in Hi-Def!

Quicktime came out with a new version 7, and it makes some very pretty videos! What you need to do is go download it, and then check out the HD Gallery. Watching movie trailers just got a lot more fun.

Search Engine Science

A simple search for “blarg” does not bring my website up on some search engines, so I’ve set out to change that. I just added the word blarg to my “description” meta tag to improve my rankings, and several search engines rank my OLD site higher than the current, so I will set the old one up to forward people and see what that does.

Below are the current rankings on several popular search engines. After a couple weeks we can look back and see if they have changed! For a true ranking the search engine must list either www.theblarg.com OR nathan118.blogspot.com.The starred** listings point to the original www.theburn.com/nathan118.

Google: #16 (www.theblarg.com)
Yahoo: #130 (nathan118.blogspot.com) and #24**
Altavista: #115 (nathan118.blogspot.com) and #20**
Lycos: #14

Both Yahoo and Altavista confound me. They list my super old website and even things like my gallery address before my actual website. Ok, changes are made, now to wait.

Furniture is Fun!

Hey boys and girls! Getting new furniture is fun! I’ve posted a whopping THREE new pictures into the gallery. I really am looking forward to the couch though, because sitting in a lawn chair to watch TV really isn’t fun. However, it is probably better if I finish working on the place before I am tempted to sit on my butt even more. :)

Square One…

The good news is that I have a new hard drive and surge protector, and windows is installed and running great.

The bad news is I lost all my mp3s from the last 7 years, my pictures from the last 8 months, and my school work since my Junior year of High School.

I emailed a few places about estimates for data recovery just to get an idea what that costs. I only saw one place give a price, and they wanted $400. Unless I can find a place with a significantly cheaper price, I don’t think I will be worrying about it.

Now for the joy of reinstalling EVERYTHING. :)

Congrats Kev!

I’d like to congratulate my buddy Kevin on moving out on his own. We’re finally getting to that age where we can start to do those sorts of things, and I’m really happy for him. I can tell he’s enjoying it a lot. Can’t wait to come check it out and enjoying being old(er)!

Boo Computers!

So I came home from the Dodger game today to find my computer BROKEN! Arrrrg!

Andrew and I eventually diagnosed a busted hard drive and video card. It’s so stinking random that two components would die at the same time. At first I suspected the motherboard, often the cause of random problems that prevent the computer from booting. However, the hard drive was making a nasty clicking sound, and I got a different agp video card to work. My video card hasn’t worked in 3 different machines, so I think it’s toast.

New 250 gig Seagate HD (sata) is on the way from Newegg. I’m using my crummy old Geforce 2 video card for now since I haven’t been playing any 3D games lately. Worst part is that all my mp3s and pictures are gone I believe. :( Oh well, good practice in not clinging to material things.
