So I came home from the Dodger game today to find my computer BROKEN! Arrrrg!
Andrew and I eventually diagnosed a busted hard drive and video card. It’s so stinking random that two components would die at the same time. At first I suspected the motherboard, often the cause of random problems that prevent the computer from booting. However, the hard drive was making a nasty clicking sound, and I got a different agp video card to work. My video card hasn’t worked in 3 different machines, so I think it’s toast.
New 250 gig Seagate HD (sata) is on the way from Newegg. I’m using my crummy old Geforce 2 video card for now since I haven’t been playing any 3D games lately. Worst part is that all my mp3s and pictures are gone I believe. 
Oh well, good practice in not clinging to material things.
