Project Townhouse

I promised an update, and here it is!

Since the last time I posted pictures much has changed. The first and biggest change is the backyard. Concrete is poured and done, now all it needs is some grass and pretty flowers. :)

On Sunday our new refrigerator came which is quite exciting. I still find it remarkable that something as mundane as a refrigerator can be exciting when you’re getting your first one.

Then on Memorial Day Stacie and I did a ton of shopping. We picked out a bedroom set, a mattress, a sofa & love seat, a dining table, and a television.

I must say that I have the best fiancée (that means soon to be wife) ever! I spent almost every waking moment with her for the last 3 days in a row (something I’ll have to do quite often), and I can’t wait to do it every single day of the week.

Stacie and I are going to spend a lot of money, haha. Yup, we’re gonna start putting stuff in our house!

Today we looked and looked at tables, couches, beds, all kinds of stuff. Tomorrow we’re going back and buying a whole ton of stuff. It all needs to be done eventually, so we might as well try and make a dent. I still have remodeling and refrigerator pictures to put up, and I’ll take some “shopping” pictures tomorrow also. I must sleep and brace myself for another non-stop day!

Do Your Feet Hurt?

Mine sure as heck do! Maybe it’s from standing up for like 8 hours a day for the last 3 days straight.

Today we got a TON done at the townhouse. The entire family on both sides was there, and I can’t thank them enough for all their help, they’re awesome. I feel blessed to come from such a loving and sacrificing family. You guys rock!

Sorry, no new pictures yet. I forgot the camera at the townhouse. Here’s a status update:

1) Backyard is done! Just needs grass and flowers.
2) Downstairs is all painted.
3) Upstairs bedrooms are almost done.
4) Hallway is done.

All that’s left really is the upstairs bathrooms, and then a lot of small “accessories” like door handles and light fixtures. For now I just want to get the painting over and done with so we can put furniture in it. I’ll be sure to drop some pictures on here as soon as I can. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, eat a hotdog for me.

The Backyard has Begun!

Work on the backyard started today, and so far it’s looking really good. See a few pictures here. Tomorrow they’ll be back to poor some cement, I can’t wait.

On a side note, I hate our pantry. It took literally 3 hours to paint it. It has so many cracks and crevices and tops and bottoms to paint, I wanna punch it really bad.

Big Backyard Overhaul

While an overhaul might be an overstatement, work on the backyard at our townhouse starts tomorrow. Right now it’s completely cemented in, but we’re having part of it ripped up so we can put in grass and planters. I have to be there nice and early at 8 am, but it should be a good opportunity to work on the trim downstairs. Below is an artist’s rendering of what it will look like:

Before

After

Last Tuesday (that band that came and played at church) just came out with a new cd! You can hear every track for the next two days, so go listen!

If you’re older and prefer less noisy music, check out Tyrone Well’s latest cd. (He was an intern for the Burn a long time ago too). My favorite is song #3.

That’s right, the world wide phenomenon known as “Treat Your Mother Right” came from an even greater piece of entertainment. In the year 1984 Mr. T created a VHS tape that would change the moral and ethical character of teenagers everywhere. Not only are those of us here at the Blarg excited to have discovered this new finding, but we are even more thrilled at the prospect of OWNING one! Yes, I found it on Ebay. I have purchased my own copy that will someday help shape the moral fiber of my children.

Little Johnny: Mom, you’re ugly!
Me: Little Johnny, treat your mother right!
Little Johnny: Sorry Mom, I love you!
Me: That’s right sucka head foo!

Quick and Witty

I’ve decided that long winded and thought out posts every few days isn’t near as fun as daily posts. Instead of making each post dramatic and world changing as they recently have been (like the critically acclaimed “Lonely Babies” post that drew media attention from around the globe), I think I will instead focus on putting my thoughts onto “paper” as they come to me.

I’m sure I will find more interesting situations like the Lonely Babies, but coming to a website and finding no new content is annoying. Look forward to daily posts, from deeply meaningful to outright pointless.
