Weekend Update

Comments off

Had a good weekend over here. Got to see Stacie a lot, so that’s always a plus. :) The monitor is now firmly secure inside the arcade. We’re still waiting for a video card to come that I ordered from England. It’s a Radeon 9200 that’s been modified specifically for outputting aracade resolutions and timings. We haven’t even plugged the monitor in yet, so that’s killing me. Otherwise we just need to finish wiring the control panel and paint a few spots, then that’s it.

This week is VERY exciting. Our next presidential election is on Tuesday, and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to this. Of course I’ll be a much happier camper if Bush wins, but it should be exciting whatever the outcome.

Ryan and I are going to see SAW in a couple hours. I think watching a scary movie on Halloween is my favorite part of the “holiday.” Carving a Jack-O-Lantern is fun too though. This year we used a stencil off of HomestarRunner and it came out super cool.

That’s all for now. Back to working on The Burn website.

President Bush the Person

Just browsing the some blogs I came across a few great stories about President Bush that show what an honest and real person he is. He seems like a very down to earth and caring guy, something that doesn’t always come across in the media. Check these couple stories out.

Guild Wars is a cool new MMORPG. The best part is that when it comes out for real there will be NO monthly fee! The open beta is running from today through Sunday, so get your game on!

New Arcade Monitor

Well, we sprung for a true arcade monitor. The idea being, a TV isn’t a true arcade monitor, so there is no way it can display games just as they were in the arcade. We just need to mount it inside the cabinet.

Just thought I’d post a general “helloooo.” Not much is going on. Still working on the arcade. Wiring the control panel and getting the display finalized. A TV just wasn’t cutting it, so we’re going to try a real arcade monitor. The TV was literally giving me a headache, so hopefully this improves things. It’s more expensive of course…but better things usually are right?

School is going alright. I’ve got a meeting with some professor tomorrow at 3pm for admission to the credential program. They make you jump through so many hoops to be a teacher. :D

Wedding stuff has sort of mellowed out. Stacie is actively seeking that special dress, but next years “models” haven’t come out yet. We’re also deciding on who’ll be officiating, so we should know that soon.

Otherwise life is just super busy, but I keep telling myself it’s only temporary. I can’t wait to be done with school, only have one job, and not only be married to Stacie, but be blessed to see her everyday. However, I don’t like being of the mindset that the present sucks and only the future will be good. I’ve got a whole lot to be thankful for…a great family, a wonderful fiancee, great friends, good jobs, and a super dog. I’m luckier than I know.

I thought this article was hilarious. For being such a big Red Sox fan, he sure doesn’t keep track of the score very well.

The score is what?

Luna and “Lunacade”

Luna and I put in another 6-7 hours today, and here’s what we have to show for it. The marquee is in, the TV is in, and the smoked plexi glass that goes in front is in. All that’s left is to wire the control panel, attach it to the base, and hook everything up! Woooo hooooo! Not to mention it will take a whole day just to clean up the mess we’re making. :)

Since I’m Uber Cheap…

Since I’m uber cheap, I decided to make a replica of the Bush/Cheney bumper sticker that I could print out. Feel free to grab the high res version below.
