Post-Debate Impressions

Comments off

The debate wasn’t too exciting. Kerry attacked Bush the whole time for waging the “wrong war at the wrong time,” and Bush stuck to his “stay the course” type message.

What really bugged me were all the dopey media people afterwards. Oh how I long for cable TV and Foxnews. ABC had a “quick poll” that showed about 15% more people thought Kerry won the debate, but that President Bush’s lead on Kerry held (they both received 1% more vote than pre-debate). Then of course the crazy media people went on and on how it was some big win for Kerry, but completely ignored that it didn’t change anyone’s mind. I’m not really sure why they think Kerry was the winner…because he was on the “offensive” more? So whoever criticizes the other more wins? John Kerry doesn’t have any plan for Iraq except that he would do it “better,” whatever the heck that means, and he wins?

I love talk radio and the blogosphere, and not so I can here opinions and points of view that are similar to mine, but so I can hear some sanity in the midst of such doofs.

Kerry’s Positions on Iraq

Kurtis sent me this awesome sound montage of John Kerry and all his positions on Iraq. Send this link to your friends, because everyone who is of age to vote needs to hear this. It will open their eyes.

John Kerry Takes EVERY Position

Recently we passed the 1000 deaths milestone in Iraq, and for some reason that number moving from three digits to four makes a huge deal. Check out this post from Weekend Pundit for some good perspective.

The picture on the left is from Drudge’s website, and the picture on the right is from this Yahoo News page. It’s really hard figuring out the timeline of when the pictures were taken, but it’s quite amusing.

This Friday Stacie turns 27! Wow, she’s so old. :D I’m just kidding. In fact, I need to apologize for blaming her for getting me sick. Though it’s true she is the one that shared her cold with me…I can think of no one I’d rather share one with. :)

So Stacie is turning 27 and I don’t know what to do for her birthday? You guys have any ideas? Maybe take her to Golf-n-Stuff? She’s been dying to go to Cold Stone, so maybe that. I told her we can work on the arcade cabinet together, but she didn’t seem too excited about that one. So help me out, I used up about six months of romantic creativity back when I proposed. Thanks.

In case you haven’t heard or seen…John Kerry was a little more "orange" this week than usual. People are speculating that there might be some pre-debate "prepping" going on. The Kerry camp’s explanation? He was playing football for one hour the day before. Should be interesting to see what color he is come Thursday, the first Presidential Debate. I can’t wait.

Little Design Changes

Well, since Mike did a real design…figure I better get my act together and do the same. I never did much tweaking after the intial setup, so about time I made it look a little original. I’ve been super sick, thanks to my wonderful fiance. :) Oh well, working on the blog is a good low-energy activity I can do while I’m sick. Hopefully I’ll think of some more cool little things to add to the site in the coming days. Til next time.

My Home Away From Home

Lately I’ve been spending far too much time at Lowe’s buying arcade cabinet parts. I went there three times…TODAY! First we had the wrong screws, then the wrong size heads, then the brackets were too big. AHHH! Finally we had all the right pieces…but it was 6 o’clock and we were beat. We did get some things done and hope to have the whole thing standing up by tomorrow. Once it starts to look like an arcade cabinet it will get real exciting. New pictures will be up soon so you can see the evolution of the beast.
